I am hearing and reading more and more about "Singapore Math." What is it? Why is it different? If it's so fabulous, yet I understand it's been used in the US for 10 years, why am I just starting to hear about it now?

Singapore Math is the math program from Singapore. They are the #1 country in the world in math & science. Their curriculum is written in English so it can be used here in the US. The core of the materials is problem solving. I have found that my son has a very strong understanding of numbers and loves the word problems that are presented.
